Sid Meiers Civilization IV: War of Two Cities sees the venerable strategy game come to your PDA. Choose one of four civilizations to wage war against the others while defending your city´s walls.
This is unlike any Civilization you've seen before. The action takes place on a two-dimensional plane, you have a mortar weapon from which to fire upon the opposing city and can build various army units as the bar builds up on the top of the screen. So, it only takes a few seconds to build an infantry unit, but you have to wait a while for more powerful ones. If you win a battle, you get points to spend improving your agriculture or technology and so on, which will effect your abilities in the following battles.
Battles play out very simply. It's a question of timing when to build which units, and making sure you fire your mortar as often and as accurately as possible. With little practice you should be able to win pretty easily.
The casual gaming style of this - it's kind-of a cannon game with a few complications - make this accessible and pretty fun. When games are beginning it's a little dull, but once the battle has commenced, you have to keep your wits about you, managing your production and firing on target.
Sid Meiers Civilization IV: War of Two Cities is a nice casualization of the series, that balances strategy with quick, mobile play well.
